About the Department

Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Three year full time diploma programme on Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 1984 with an intake of 60 students. The strength of the students was increased to 110 consisting of two batches in the year 2009 - 2010. The students are admitted based on the 10th standard qualification and communal roaster followed in the state of Tamil Nadu. During the second year, the department admits 10% lateral entry students with Higher Secondary (Academic & Vocational) and ITI qualifications.

This department got NBA Accreditation in the years 2011-2014. The faculty members are qualified, highly committed, self-motivated and well trained to disseminate the best teaching-learning process to the students catering to the needs of industries and also they are constantly updating their knowledge to meet the growing demands of the student's community by attending NITTTR, NPTEL, FDP’S, Industrial Training’s and seminars.

For the past 20 years, 80 percentages of the students of our department have secured admissions for pursuing higher studies with high percentage and most of the students have been placed in various industries with high Scale through placement and training cell. Our students are motivated to participate in extracurricular activities they won prizes in the state level Inter College Symposium. Our students are shined in sports also. We regularly conduct Continuing Education Programmes on Electrical AutoCAD, PLC and PCB design.

Electrical & Electronics Engineering

It gives me immense pride and pleasure to lead the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of this esteemed & prestigious Institution. Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) is the front runner because of its recent recognition and adoption by all industries and academia, thereby gaining self-confidence of our students to compete successfully with all competitive disciplines.

It imparts quality education in multifarious disciplines of Electrical, Electronics and Control of Electrical /machines etc along with generation transmission and distribution of electrical power.
The inherent skills of our students are being well nurtured by highly qualified faculty and hard working staff in achieving goals & objectives of the department.

Our department consist of various laboratories equipped with the new technological set ups giving the scope to all students having a hands on experience individually. Which will increase their confidence to face the practical problems in the field of Electrical Engineering.

Apart from the regular curriculum the department strives to develop the students into intellectual prodigy. The department conducts various programs under the department association such as Technical training, Symposium, Project expo, Guest lectures and Seminar by experts from industries and Academic background for constant knowledge up-gradation of staff and students. This activity helps to know the latest technologies, in the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Industrial visits are regularly organized to improve the practical knowledge of the students and have as interaction with the industry people.

We continue to play a leading role in our discipline which leads us towards creating innovative and effective professional graduate community which would vivacious and provide continuous learning. I extend my warm wishes to all budding electrical engineers.

Project Work

The students are encouraged to take up various projects during their course work through curriculum based project. The third and fourth semester students usually take up micro projects based on the basic concepts in the curriculum.
